AmyJBanfield_headshot2 (002).jpeg

Amy Jane never knew that yoga and fitness would be her career path. After more than a decade as a competitive synchronized swimmer and then runner, she had her initial experience practicing yoga while visiting Santa Fe in 2011. She went on to complete for 200-hour Vinyasa certification through YogahOMe in her hometown of Cincinnati, OH and received her E- RYT 200 certification from Yoga Alliance in 2015.

Amy Jane's passion for teaching yoga is rooted in witnessing her students become empowered by their bodies while their stress and worries melt away. Her yoga classes are smooth, dynamic, and encourage her students to be playful in their approach to the practice. In addition to teaching weekly classes she also leads teacher training programs & local workshops.

When she is not teaching yoga, indoor cycling or barre classes; you can find Amy Jane enjoying the great outdoors (hiking is one of her favorites), exploring the Farmers' Market, drinking tea, art journaling, spending time with those who uplift her, reading at a local coffee shop or just out and about exploring Santa Fe, always with a smile on her face!

Karen Johns, eRYT500, YACEP Co-owner of The Yoga Nest in downtown Milford, OH

KarenJohns.jpg

Integrative Quantum Medicine™ Practitioner I took my first yoga classes in my mid-30’s wearing overalls, never dreaming I’d eventually own yoga pants in double digits. I studied with a young, serious, passionate Iyengar teacher in various church basements and eventually found my way to Shine Yoga Center where the magical combination of asana, philosophy and sadhana became a supercharged catalyst for my personal growth. My body changed. My perceptions changed. My spiritual life matured and continues to unfold one pose, one meditation, one thought at a time. Ahh, what treasures I’ve received in the more than 20 years I’ve been practicing and teaching.

I opened a studio, The Yoga Nest, four years ago in downtown Milford with my friend and biz partner Layla Reed. All of my weekly classes and 1:1 work are done online at the moment serving mostly folks between 40 - 70ish. My passion is doing Energy Renewal Sessions that include a variety of modalities including IQM, an unbelievably effective hands-free healing technique (created by Louise Mita) that clears energy from micro- to macro-cosmic levels.

For my offering to Project Yoga’s online event this year, I’m stepping outside the asana realm because it’s super important for us to begin to understand the incredible power of our thought energy: What is it and how are we directing it? In the current climate of COVID-19, rampant racial injustices and political bedlam, now more than ever we need to hone our mental toolkits toward uplifting human consciousness and creating the reality we desire. The guided visualization I’m contributing helps us each start right in the heart of where it all begins: within ourselves. I hope you’ll join me.

Meredith Hogan, from Modo Yoga

I am a shaman, yogini, singer, dancer and healer. I was born with an understanding of the power of love, the great force that moves all things. Full of dance and song from my first moments, I’ve well understood that we humans are the dancing and the singing species and that this is an essential part of our happiness. My yogic journey began in adolescence when physical injury met emotional heart break.

The longing to heal and to enjoy life again after this first deep dive into pain, gave me a thirst for the spiritual medicine that would be my soul’s compass and my life’s work. I know in my marrow that deep healing occurs when we have the support of community, intimacy/reciprocity with the earth, life and spirit and the ability to see through the eyes of beauty.

I’m a graduate of the Four Winds Society Energy Medicine School as well as a recording artist and sacred musician. I offer my gifts through ceremony in many forms including retreat experiences (locally and internationally), public yoga, dance and and journey spaces as well as private shamanic healing sessions, both in person and via Zoom from anywhere in the world. I am an earth keeper, devoted to living in beauty and assisting others as they navigate the glorious journey each soul came to make. I am currently working on launching a subscription program so I can share these teachings that are calling out to be shared.

Adam Stonebraker from Modo Yoga and The Yoga Bar

From Adam’s website:

“I have been an unofficial student of contemplation and the mysteries of life since I can remember, but my formal training began around 20 years ago.

Adam+Stonebraker

My initial meditation training was through a professor at Xavier University who trained in the Zen style of meditation of shikantaza. I later studied in Theravada and other Mahayana schools as well. Today my practice consists of both traditional Buddhist meditation techniques taught by the Buddha himself as well as Mahayana devotional practices taught to me by my teachers Kittisaro and Thanisarra.

My yoga practice is informed by my primary teachers, Sarah & Ty Powers, who have endorsed me to teach Insight Yoga. I have also studied extensively with Paul & Suzie Grilley, Joe Barnett, and Maty Ezraty, as well as many others.

In May of 2019, I earned an MA in the unique and highly regarded Mindfulness Studies Program at Lesley University in Cambridge Massachusetts. For the past 6 years I have offered Yin Yoga teacher trainings, meditation, mindfulness, and yoga workshops, mentorship, and retreats, internationally.”

Adam will be leading a Yin Yoga Class for Namast’ay hOMe.

Bridget+Henson+Head+Shot.jpg

From Bridget:

Being a part of a community has always been something I've been drawn to. Laugher, connection, and awareness that we are all in "this thing" together is what drew me to deepen my practice. The body awareness and understanding of myself is what keeps me coming back and informs my teaching. As a new mom and being a human in 2020, I'm super grateful for this practice. Thank you for supporting Project Yoga, and yourselves.
